35 Webcam & Microphone

Avoid using a low-quality microphone or webcam, as you may experience feedback and it will be difficult for students to understand what you are saying. It is best practice to use an external microphone (separate from your computer) or headset to avoid potential audio problems during a call.

There may be sound coming out of your speakers which can be picked up by your microphone and cause feedback (background noise, e.g. echoes) for students. Use the “Make a test call” to confirm there are no audio and visual issues associated with your current configuration and equipment.
