6 Cautions Before Jumping In

Microsoft Teams was not designed, primarily, as an educational platform. There are new functions being added regularly and this can cause some confusion as the platform could change slightly during your term. These updates are controlled by Microsoft.

If you plan on exchanging files with students, you will have to take some time to consider how you will organize the file structure in order to keep things tidy. The system will not organize files for you. The system is flexible, but that flexibility can lead to disorder if you aren’t careful.

You will not be able to do your grading inside MSTeams. There are other solutions for doing this, but MSTeams will not be a one software solution for your teaching.

Your first time using Teams is going to be a learning experience. You will need to be comfortable adapting during the course and being comfortable with not knowing answers to some questions.
