56 A New Environment

Transitioning to online learning can be overwhelming. In this chapter, we offer some general tips related to working in this new online environment.


Updates are frequent

  • Microsoft Teams is a dynamic application that is frequently updated
  • Be prepared for changes in appearance and functionality

Asking around for ideas and feedback

  • Your students have different perspectives and may give you new ideas
  • Consider creating a custom feedback form to allow students to provide quantitative information about the various systems put in place
  • See what other faculty members are doing for similar courses

Developing a style that works for YOU

  • There may be some programs or methods you prefer and others that may not work for you
  • Experiment with different options and see what works best
