3.3.5 Conclusion

Emergent situations can and do happen, but when everyone follows the appropriate policies and protocols, the situation can often be resolved faster and more smoothly, possibly preventing the situation from becoming more serious. In an emergency, you will not necessarily have time to look up what to do, and you may be required to work together as a team with other staff members, so it’s best to review the prescribed responses regularly so that you know exactly how to proceed and what your role should be. In addition, be sure to keep your first aid, CPR, and defibrillation training current so you are ready when needed.
