2.5.5 Conclusion

In this chapter you have learned:

  1. The difference between palliative care and hospice care
  2. How to care for clients at the end-of-life stage
  3. The stages of grief and what they look like
  4. How to cope with your own and other’s grief after a loss

End-of-life care is extremely challenging, and it requires a highly specialized set of caring skills. Hopefully, you now feel equipped to support a client and family members who are in either palliative or hospice care contexts.
