Text Description

My reflective practice

Made with a lightning strike of genius

I am building my stewardship of reflection by intentionally setting aside time each day to think about my experiences at work/school. I keep a journal to record observations, feelings, and insights, and I use structured reflection models like Dewey’s to guide my thinking. I also seek feedback from colleagues and peers, which helps me see situations from different perspectives. By making reflection a daily habit, I ensure I am mindful of my actions, learning from them, and continuously improving my practice.

Stewardship-Cemetria

Stewardship is about managing and making decisions that connect to your everyday living. In the work place stewardship is valuable to the people I engage with. I myself have to be mindful and show compassion. Sometimes life gets so busy and obstacles and situations may arise and you feel like your drowning, but than I have to stop and self-reflect, be attentive. Reflecting on reflective practices, stopping to think how I am going to incorporate reflective practices in my journey and with my fellow colleague on managing my time, making wise decisions and creating a plan that will enhance me with opportunities that will be beneficial to others.

When I think about this word stewardship, I think of ways I can reflect my ideas in journals, notes, or talking to a friend. I need to find ways to slow down, like going for walks, going for a drive, or visiting a friend, and talking about how my day went. I really need to slow down, because my life is really crazy, and I need to think about my health and well being. I come first. I need to incorporate my reflection in my work week.

Stewardship. Salma

For me, stewardship comes in workplace where I constantly engage with other people. My job needs me to take care of the people that visits, which means I have to be attentive, responsive and reflective about how I handle interactions. I build my stewardship of reflection by pausing to think about what went well in each interaction, what could be improved, and how I can adapt my approach to support others better in the future. This helps me take responsibility for my own practice and ensures I am providing thoughtful, considered care and service every day.

Stewardship-Janna

Using stewardship in my daily life at work, I try to do this by creating a routine of workdays, I do this by reflecting. I like to think critically about my own practices and how they could impact my work life. I like to use self reflections in my journalling. This helps me remember the thoughts that I had at that time. Maybe it could be the way I wrote them or how I felt at that moment, this will benefit me in the future. I also like to talk with co workers and get their feedback on anything they may feel or want to share with me. I would take this into consideration and try positively collaborating with them. I try to stay open minded, respectful and never judge anyone’s thoughts and be open to change and input. When I am at work, I take responsibility for my actions and remember that I am a role model for everyone there, I try to use positive approaches when dealing with any situations that may arise. I take time for myself when needed to reflect.

My Reflection on Building Stewardship of Reflection in My Daily Practice (Kelsey -Late Entry)

In reading Chapter 7, section 7.3, “Reclaiming Reflective Practice,” I am reminded of the importance of viewing reflection not just as an occasional activity but as a stewardship, an ongoing responsibility to nurture my growth as an educator. To build this stewardship into my daily routine, I am committed to setting aside intentional moments for self-reflection after each interaction or activity.
For example, I keep a reflective journal where I note what went well, what challenges I faced, and how I might improve my approach. I also make it a point to ask myself reflective questions during the day, such as What did I learn from the children today? or How did my actions influence the children’s engagement?
Additionally, I seek feedback from colleagues and participate in informal peer reflections, viewing these exchanges as opportunities to deepen my understanding and responsibility for my professional growth. Through these practices, I aim to cultivate a mindset of stewardship, carefully tending to my reflective habits so they become an integral part of my work and contribute to better outcomes for the children I serve.
Reflective practice, in this sense, becomes a daily act of stewardship, something I nurture consciously to ensure I am continually learning, improving, and honoring my role in supporting children’s development.

To incorporate reflection into my daily routine, I take responsibility for my role and actions, embrace a mindset of care and responsibility and compassion, rather than hard and fast rules. I utilize my time and talents effectively to serve others and contribute to my community. At work, I utilize my time productively, and focus on tasks, and minimizing distractions. at the end of my work day I take time to reflect on my accomplishments and challenges, and things i may need to work on. i started journaling, it helps me through documenting ideas, feelings, and observation notes on a event or situation. it helps me focus on my thoughts and develop ideas, express my feelings and emotional responses. it also makes me aware of my actions.

To me, stewardship involves being responsible and caring for myself and those around me. I prioritize the well-being of my mind, behavior, and emotions through reflective practice. As an educator, I aim to cultivate high-quality learning experiences, support holistic development, create an inclusive environment, and respond effectively to my students’ needs. At the end of each day, I take time to reflect on my actions and decisions. I discuss my experiences with my co-educator to gather insights and understand how she might handle similar situations. I carefully analyze her suggestions before determining a course of action. As educators, we face new challenges every day, and I view children as competent learners, so I embrace the opportunity to learn alongside them. Each day and every situation serves as a valuable learning experience for me. I also engage in discussions with a colleague who is an educator to gain further perspectives. Additionally, I maintain a calendar to track my daily tasks and routines, allowing me to adjust activities based on the children’s interests. I draw on various resources from the library, early learning portals, and professional development courses to implement an effective and responsive curriculum.

I believe that reflective writing and practical learning help me build strong stewardship.

When it comes to building my stewardship of reflection into my day-to-day at work, I make sure to take time at the end of each day to reflect on my accomplishments, challenges, and areas for improvement. I also regularly seek feedback from my colleagues and superiors, and use that feedback to continuously improve and grow. Additionally, I make an effort to engage in reflective practices, such as journaling or meditation, to help me gain insight and perspective on my work and actions. Overall, I believe that actively incorporating reflection into my routine allows me to be a more responsible and effective employee/Student.

Stewardship- Laxmi

To build stewardship by reflecting daily at work or school, I utilize time productively and efficiently, focusing on tasks and minimizing distractions, and secure confidential data and guarantee that precise information is communicated. I take initiative in tasks and be accountable for the results. I make sure to meet obligations and timelines and support my teammates and help coworkers when necessary. I also assess how decisions impact the environment, society, or organization. I request feedback from others and utilize it to enhance stewardship methods. To improve my method based on fresh insights and experiences, I record daily tasks, thoughts, and aspects for enhancement and focus areas for enhancing stewardship and develop actionable strategies. I tend to improve expertise and abilities via workshops or classes or by seeking an experienced individual in stewardship methods. Incorporating these principles into your everyday life allows you to develop a solid sense of stewardship and make a positive impact on the workplace community.

Stewardship (late entry)

Stewardship is not a word I often used so I did need a refresher on it. But for me, stewardship occurs when I am taking care of my family. I am often caring for my family members in various ways, offering advice, caring for them when they are sick or during hard times, caring for my younger cousins, etc. I often care for others where I do lack in my own self care. So, that is something that I need to work on. I can still care for my family by doing activities with them like going for walks, sitting outside interacting with them, relaxing by watching a movie. Simple things like this I am still letting them know I am there but I am also doing activities I enjoy as well.

To incorporate reflection into my daily routine, I start by setting aside a few minutes at the beginning and end of each day. In the morning, on my walk to the daycare I reflect on my goals and intentions, envisioning how I want the day to unfold. This helps me prioritize tasks and approach challenges with a clear mind. In the evening, I enjoy talking about my day with my husband. I take time to review what I accomplished, what I learned, and how I can improve going forward. .
I incorporate mindfulness practices throughout the day, such as taking short breaks to breathe deeply and recenter myself. This keeps me grounded and better equipped to handle stress. I also engage in regular discussions with colleagues or classmates, sharing insights and receiving feedback, which provides a broader perspective and fosters a supportive environment.

I practice stewardship by consciously setting aside time in my daily routine to reflect on my actions, decisions, and personal growth. I make it a habit to regularly check in with myself. At the end of each day, I take a moment to evaluate what I did and the choices I made. I find it helpful to keep a journal to track my reflections. I start my day by reviewing my goals or priorities, and I end it by assessing whether my actions aligned with them.

Stewardship makes me think of selfcare. As adults, we tend to not take good care of ourselves. We constantly put others first. We get busy, over stimulated, stressed out, over whelmed, but what are we doing to take care of ourselves and allowing ourselves to heal or better our mental health? Doing things like going for walks, going to the gym, reading a book, getting a pedicure, spending time with our family, or soaking in a nice warm bath. Doing things like this can remind us about the importance to take care of ourselves. If we don’t take care of ourselves, how are we supposed to take care of our family and the children we work with? remember the importance of self care.

As I sit and think about what that word means, I consider using this as my opportunity to pause and reflect.
How I am building my stewardship of reflection is by journaling, talking without ruminating on problems that I can not control, and being mindful how I think as thinking positively is more beneficial instead of self sabotaging. I give myself space to feel, think, and giving myself empathy as I navigate through life’s troubles.
This can be done in my personal life mostly, as my professional life I tend to handle my work stress more effectively!
