The material in this chapter assists us in having a better understanding of those who have had trouble due to drug use, whether it is family, neighbour, work or school. We want to understand how to make it easier for people to get help for drug-related problems.  All these efforts require laws, regulations and social policy.  In this chapter, we will examined laws and policies and explore some of the debates around incarceration and legalizing drugs.
