Speculum with condom over top and tip cut off to assist with exam of individuals with high BMI

  • When completing a pelvic exam in an individual with increased body mass index (BMI), consider putting a condom with the tip cut off onto your speculum prior to inserting it for cervix examination. This can help hold back surplus vaginal wall tissue from the field of view.
