About the Author

She received her doctorate in sociology from the University of Toronto in 1994. Over the course of her career, her teaching and research has focused on: the impact of public policy on the health and well-being; identity and stigma management; drugs, drug use and drug policy; illness, death and dying; sex work, sexual labour and sex work policy; and research ethics.
