H5P: Creating H5P Interactives with the H5P Studio
Learning Objectives
By the end of this chapter, you should be able to:
- Sign in to the H5P Studio.
- Fill in the left panel of information in the H5P Studio editor and select your interactive’s privacy level.
Steps to start creating an H5P Interactive:
- Sign in to your H5P Studio account.
- Click Create in the top right corner.
- Select the activity type you would like to create.
- Review the accompanying example and tutorial.
- Fill in the Description panel.
- Customize your activity.
- Add metadata, including selecting the appropriate CC license and adding any necessary attribution or credit statements.
- Click Save.
- Embed or share your activity.

Indexing and Privacy Options
H5P Studio allows you to include additional descriptive information to make your content more discoverable or control privacy, including:
Description
- Descriptive Title: This title will be used when displaying content within this site. Make it descriptive enough for others to easily identify your content’s purpose.
- Subject: Select one or more of the predefined subject areas your content covers.
- Description: A brief description of your content’s goal or intended use to help others understand.
- Keywords: Additional words that will group content. Choose from existing keywords or create new keywords.
Privacy Options
- Work in Progress (WIP): Indicate that this content is unfinished or not ready for use. Content that is marked as a Work in Progress will not be listed in the catalogue but can be listed in a user’s profile
- Show in Catalogue: Allow others to discover this content using the catalogue.
- Show in Profile: Display this content on your eCampusOntario H5P Studio Profile. Other logged-in users can visit your profile to see your content portfolio.
