Course 1: Introductory Physics I

To complete the five experiments in this course, a lab kit may be assembled from local educational stores with the following items:

  • 1 drawstring bag (large enough to hold the cellphone)
  • 3 rubber bands (for fastening the phone in the bag)
  • 10ft string (for making a pendulum)
  • 500g mass (for changing the mass of the phone by a fixed amount)
  • 1m tape measure (for measuring lengths up to 1 meter)
  • a cardboard shipping box (to work as a slope)

Alternatively, the instructor may allow the students to use the items that they have at home, as long as the student’s items can satisfy the requirements listed above.
