Course 2: Introductory Physics II

To complete the five experiments in this course, a lab kit may be assembled from local educational stores with the following items:

  • 2 mini Light bulbs 1.3 to 1.5 V
  • 2 Lamp sockets
  • 2 Red LEDs
  • 2 Green LEDs
  • 10 Alligator clip wires
  • 1 Battery holder for 2 AA batteries (batteries not included)
  • 1 Glass Prism
  • 1 Bi-convex Lens 5 cm focal length
  • 1 Bi-convex Lens 30 cm focal length
  • 1 Diffraction Grating Slide
  • 1 Neodymium magnet (circular shape)
  • 1 Length of copper wire approx 1.5 foot long

In addition, the following items are needed but are not included in the lab kit:

  • AA batteries (at least 2~3 are needed)
  • Duct tape (or any tape)
  • 1 small shipping box (for constructing the enclosure for optical labs)
