Call for Papers
The Open Access Teaching Case Journal (OATCJ) presents a Call for Papers for our next issue.
Visit the journal’s website to review the submission process and to submit your work. OATCJ submissions are monitored on a regular basis. Therefore, submissions in advance of the deadline are encouraged. The peer-review process has a turnaround time of four to six weeks.
OATCJ publishes descriptive/evaluative or decision-based teaching case studies in all disciplines using a developmental double-blind peer-review process. Cases must be factual and involve real-life organizations and people—OATCJ does not accept fictional cases. However, authors may choose to disguise the organizations or people in the case. Previously published cases (except those in proceedings or workshop presentations) are not eligible for consideration. Cases should be written for a student audience and may be of any length, but shorter cases are preferred.
All submissions must include a manuscript for the case study and a separate teaching note or instructor’s manual. Please carefully read the case study and teaching note (instructor’s manual) guidelines before submitting your manuscript to avoid delays in the review process.
Submissions must include a release form signed by the authorized people within the organization referenced in the case. This requirement also applies to cases where names are disguised. However, the release form is not required for cases developed exclusively using publicly available resources (published primary or secondary sources), instead of personal experience or interviews.
Accepted cases are published free-of-charge and can be accessed free-of-charge from OATCJ’s Pressbooks site. Instructor’s manuals (teaching notes) will be made available to instructors only on a vetted basis. See the open access guidelines for further details.

We look forward to receiving your case manuscripts.
