Researching topics of interest independently is a form of self-directed learning, which can help you develop valuable skills, including but not limited to research, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. By exploring topics of interest, you can expand your knowledge base and find new opportunities to apply the knowledge and skills you are acquiring in the classroom to more complex problems beyond the classroom.
