15 Testing Tools

There are a variety of tools available to test the accessibility of your webpage and other types of content (e.g. documents, PowerPoint slides). The next few pages will describe these tools and how you can use them to test for accessibility. Some testing tools, like a keyboard, colour contrast checker, and screen reader, are relevant tools to use in all types of accessibility reviews. Other tools are technology-specific, like document checkers, web browser checkers, and Microsoft’s Accessibility Insights (for checking Windows apps).

Test page

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C ) has provided a Test page with several defects. It makes an excellent testing sandbox that can be used to try out all of the website-related testing tools above.
