21 The Hidden Job Market

Many people find jobs through the hidden job market. How can you tap into this extensive resource?

According to the Government of Canada (2022), many employers do not advertise job positions publicly. Instead, they rely on referrals from people they trust, they hire people they know who fit the role, or they promote a current employee. This saves the employer valuable time interviewing and hiring people who may not be the right fit for the job or the company.
