Solving Fluid Dynamics Problems: A strategy
- Sketch the problem.
- Make reasonable simplifying assumptions (ex., incompressible fluid; gravity may or may not be important).
- Identify knowns and unknowns.
- Decide the type of flow: laminar or turbulent.
- Choose the equation to solve the problem.
- Substitute known values and find the answer complete with units.
- Does the answer make sense?
