Part 4 – Wound Rotor Motors

Wound Rotor Motors

Wound-rotor motors deliver speed control of heavy and high-torque loads. Windings are brought out to slip rings and brushes, which are connected to an external resistor control.
The resistance control allows speed and torque to be varied. Applications include chippers, cranes, hoists, conveyors, blowers, and fans.
