Working Through Disagreement

In Tuckman’s stages of team development, the storming stage involves generating new ideas, brainstorming and navigating decisions as a team. This stage of team development can also often involve disagreement and conflict.

When working in teams, it’s natural for disagreement and conflict to appear from time to time. This can feel uncomfortable and awkward and create barriers for your team and individuals. In addition to honing your emotional intelligence, one of the most important skills for you and your team to learn is how to work and negotiate disagreement so that you can make decisions, perform effectively and meet your goals.
