Reflective Debriefing Questions

To deepen you learning from playing Safe Pharmacy virtual gaming simulation, please take a few moments to complete the following questions. Feel free to share your responses with your instructor, peers or colleagues.

  1. Describe in one or two words how you felt after playing the virtual game?
  2. What did you learn about how you approach customers with concerns from the decisions you made during the game?
  3. What did you learn about your approach to assessing client concerns from the decisions you made during the game?
  4. Which decision points went well for you in game and why?
  5. Which decision points were most challenging for you and why?
  6. How confident did you feel about your communication responses to Ms. Lee and Jay, the pharmacist and why?
  7. Do you agree with the responses identified as most effective in each of the decision points; or did you feel another decisions would have been more appropriate? Explain why.
  8. What gaps in your knowledge did you identify while playing the game? What did you wish you knew more about? What actions can you take to fill your knowledge gaps?
  9. What would you do the same and what would you do differently, if you were to experience a similar situation in your practice?
  10. How will you use what you have learned in the game in your practice to avoid medication dispensing errors?
  11. How confident do you feel about responding to a similar situation in your practice? How confident were you before you played this virtual gaming simulation?
