OTA Emerging Role Placement Information

The purpose of the following guide is to provide general information regarding Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) role-emerging placements. OTA role-emerging placements were developed in order to increase the number of OTA placements available to students and to provide unique fieldwork learning opportunities while promoting OT and OTA service delivery in the community.

Please note that this guide is a complement to the full OTA&PTA Student Fieldwork Placement Manual and provides supplemental information specific to role-emerging placements. It has been designed for students, onsite supervisors, clinical instructors, and faculty advisors, and partnering sites that offer role-emerging placements for Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant (OTA&PTA) students.
