Part A: Reflection

Research in psychology shows that people think about their future selves the way they think about other people (Markus & Nurious, 1986). One’s ideal self is defined as the person they dream of becoming in the future. It has all the desirable attributes one plans on achieving in the future and is significantly different from one’s actual self, which includes the qualities one has already achieved to date.

How often do you think about the future? What kinds of topics do you normally think about?
