Course Navigation, Readability and Usability

 

You might remember the phrase, “How many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop?” …”The world may never know!”

 

That’s definitely not the experience that we want our students to have when they are trying to find anything in your course. How many clicks does it take for a student to find what they need? Think about something really important to your course, like the course outline, or the course schedule. Where is it? Is it easy for students to find if they need to refer to it? What about assignment descriptions? Where are they? How do students find them?

 

Course navigation is all about ease of use, so students spend less time (and frustration) finding what they need and more time learning! You can find more information about the main considerations for ease of use by clicking the accordion headings below.
