Year One Hopes and Dreams

Use this space to share your hopes and dreams for the upcoming school year. Which courses do you look forward to taking? What are your concerns? What do you hope to accomplish?

We can revisit Sarah here for an example:

As I embark on my first year in the Criminology program, my goals are both ambitious and focused. I aim to immerse myself fully in the coursework, absorbing every bit of knowledge about the psychological, sociological, and legal aspects of crime. I dream of understanding the intricate factors that lead individuals down the path of criminality, and I am determined to analyze the systemic issues that perpetuate such behavior.

During this first year, I aspire to form meaningful connections with my professors and fellow students, creating a network of like-minded individuals who share my passion for justice. Engaging in discussions, debates, and collaborative projects, I hope to broaden my perspective and refine my critical thinking skills.

Furthermore, I am eager to explore internships and research opportunities that will allow me to step out of the classroom and into real-world settings where I can apply theoretical concepts to practical situations. By the end of this year, I envision laying a solid foundation for the rest of my academic journey, armed with insights and experiences that will shape not only my understanding of criminology but also my own growth as a compassionate and determined advocate for justice.
