Chapter 5: Bulk PLAR Pilot Project
5.1 Bulk PLAR Process
Application Process for Bulk PLAR Pilot Project:
Applicant contacts Fanshawe College with resume and applies for the Bulk PLAR assessment.
Applicant completes a self-assessment outlining examples of workplace experience that align with all Vocational Learning Outcomes of the program.
Applicant meets with faculty to determine if the self-assessment provides enough vocational background to prepare for the full assessment.
Faculty determines the approval of the applicant and if the assessment process begins.
Applicant completes assessments based on criteria and timelines provided
Faculty grades the assessments and determines what courses the applicant will be given credit for and what courses they will need to complete
Applicant works with the Office of the Registrar to begin the registration process.
Assessment Process
There are three parts to the assessment (approximately 20 hours to complete):
- Portfolio – An electronic portfolio comprising between 20-50 components
- Challenge Exam – An online exam of between 107 – 279 questions
- Interview – An interview of between 24-64 questions.
