Welcome to Centennial College
It is my pleasure to extend a warm welcome! As a Centennial student, you are joining a community of learners across diverse professional disciplines, and embarking on an exciting journey of discovery, growth, and achievement. As a learning-centered college, all members of our community – students, faculty, support staff, administrators, as well as our industry partners – embrace lifelong, transformative learning that changes minds, lives, and hearts.
Our faculty have extensive experience in their fields of practice and study and are committed to creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment that integrates applied and experiential skills development, self-discovery, critical reflection, and academic achievement. We are proud of our dedicated and dynamic faculty team. We recognize that each student brings their own unique set of knowledge, skills, aspirations, and challenges, and our goal is to assist every learner in reaching their goals.
We strive to offer students a wide range of academic programs across a full spectrum of credentials, including certificates, diplomas, and baccalaureate degrees that are current and relevant to their specific areas of study. This handbook has been developed to provide you with information about your program, as well as the many services that are available to you at Centennial. Your program handbook also references important information about your rights and responsibilities as a student at Centennial College, including academic and other policies.
At Centennial, we recognize that learning at its best can be enriching, inspiring, and transformative; we also appreciate that along the way there may be obstacles or difficulties. I encourage you to take advantage of the many supports and services we offer and to investigate the numerous co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities that make college life so rewarding.
Thank you for choosing Centennial College, Ontario’s first college. On behalf of the Academic Division, I wish you every success in your program and in your ongoing journey.
Warm regards,
Dr. Marilyn Herie, PhD, RSW
Vice President Academic & Chief Learning Officer
