To support the environmental scan process, it may be helpful to learn more about OERs and open licensing. The OER Prep Course contains self-paced learning modules designed to provide an introduction to open educational resources (OER) and open licensing.
Throughout the modules, there are opportunities to check understanding and explore concepts further. The modules can be followed in any order, but it is recommended to start with Module 1 and progress through in order. The final product is the course map (environmental scan).
OER Prep Course Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, you should be able to:
- Define Open Educational Resources
- Explain the rationale for OER adoption and use
- Explain the differences between the Creative Commons licenses
- Identify repositories and other resources for finding relevant OER
- Use tools and criteria to evaluate OER
