How to Effectively Use this eBook
If you have found this eBook, you were either told by your professor to create an Open Educational Resource (OER), or you are creating an OER for fun. Either way, we have created an eBook that covers a wide range of tools that can be used to create OERs.
Don’t worry about your skill level because we have implemented a system which allows you to work at a level until you feel comfortable to move onto the next. In the chapters where you create resources, under the sections “Creating Openly Licensed Materials” and “Presentations” you will see beginner, intermediate and advanced, choose to begin wherever you feel comfortable.
Always keep these in mind when you create your OER:
- Think about your rubric and what you need to get done
- Make sure that you are using resources that you are allowed to use (Think about the copyright/Intellectual Property)
- Put a license on your resource, (Creative Commons) CC BY NC ND is recommended, learn more on the page “Understanding Openly Licensed Materials”
