7 PROGRAM ENHANCEMENT

Please discuss the following four areas identified below. Refer to McMaster’s priorities and commitments in Section 1.1 as well as Sections 3.1 (current state of discipline), 3.3 (program innovation), 3.4 EDIA Considerations, 4.2 (modes of delivery) and 4.3 (methods of assessment) to help frame enhancements and improvements.

7.1 Outcomes of Previous Academic Reviews

Discuss any concerns and recommendations that were raised in previous reviews, especially those detailed in the Final Assessment Report, Implementation Plan and subsequent monitoring reports from the previous Cyclical Review of the program and outline any changes that resulted from those recommendations to strengthen the program. If any of these documents cannot be located, please contact IQAP at iqap@mcmaster.ca.

7.2 Quality Enhancement

Describe initiatives that have been undertaken to enhance teaching, learning and/or research environments and thus, the overall quality of the program. Please also discuss how these initiatives will be sustained.

7.3 Areas of Improvement

Describe any areas within the program that have been identified, through the conduct of the Self-Study, as requiring improvement. Departments may also provide some narrative on an implementation plan for improvement. Reflect upon past, recent or ongoing EDIA initiatives that may need to be improved or enhanced to meet the current needs of students, staff and faculty within your program/department.

7.4 Areas of Enhancement

Provide information regarding any areas within the program, identified through the conduct of the Self-Study, that hold promise for enhancement. Consider future-planned actions or new possibilities for your program/department to engage in EDIA, anti-racism and anti-oppression initiatives and which could benefit students, staff or faculty.
