This Handbook as a Living Document
Our understanding of inclusivity, best practices, and the sociocultural context of our department and students continues to evolve over time. To best support teaching and mentorship within this context, this handbook is intended to serve as a living document, with updates and new sections to reflect ongoing changes in our understanding and environment.
Additionally, while this handbook aims to provide a comprehensive guide for inclusive teaching and mentorship in our department, there are topics we have not yet covered in the currently released chapters. The section below highlights chapters that are under development or are planned for future development.
Chapters under Development/Planned for Future Development
Supporting Mature, Working, and Part-Time Students
Within this chapter, we hope to discuss how instructors and research environments can help to support the unique needs of mature, working, and part-time students. This chapter is planned to also address ageism in psychology, and how we can best minimize the impacts of financial and practical barriers faced by students.
Feedback and Suggestions for Future Chapters
Given that this handbook is a living document, feedback helps us to ensure that this document reflects current best practices, updated language, and contemporary barriers to inclusive teaching and mentorship. To enable this constructive process, the bottom of this chapter features a comment box for readers to provide their feedback. Please go to the bottom of the page to find the comment box.
