3M Session Development and Evaluation
The 3M sessions took place in the middle of each lecture, once per week in the order shown in Table 1. We organized the order of the sessions to coincide with important topics or assessments in the course. For example, active learning strategies, stress management, and the learning cycle were introduced at the beginning of the course, while resilience and exam strategies were discussed at the end. We assessed the impact of these sessions on student academic performance, emotional health, and well-being using online questionnaires that were made available near the end of the course. Students could complete the questionnaires voluntarily and be entered into a draw to win a gift card. Similar questionnaires were also made available to a separate section of the same course (~150 students) who only had access to online 3M session content (and no in-person delivery of 3M sessions). All protocols were approved by the Trent University Research Ethics Board (#28772).
