McMaster University’s Preparing a Teaching Portfolio Guidebook was created to support McMaster University educators in creating and reviewing teaching portfolios. It features chapters on the portfolio process, writing a compelling portfolio, McMaster’s policy requirements for teaching portfolios, selecting evidence, and collecting peer feedback. It links to relevant McMaster policies and resources and includes a Word doc template of an SPS B2-compliant portfolio that readers can download and populate. The Guidebook also includes a chapter on teaching portfolio assessment for department chairs, peers, and reviewers, which discusses the responsibilities of reviewing a portfolio, taking a consistent approach, qualities and types of evidence to look for in a portfolio, and providing feedback.
