Student Authored Projects Option 1

To embolden future students to engage critically and creatively with Shakespeare, this section of the book brings together three outstanding “Option 1” Shakespeare and/as Adaptation final projects.

Students who selected this project option created (and then analyzed) their own adaptations of Shakespeare — borrowing from the master borrower himself, as it were, as a means of speaking to their own targeted audiences.

The model projects in this section of the book all transpose Shakespeare’s dramatic poetry to new visual mediums, deploying digital painting (de Berner), watercolour (Mendonca), and collage (Tomala) in three particularly exciting creative revisitings of scenes from Hamlet and Macbeth.
