Risk Management, Judgement, and Decision-Making is about developing critical thinking skills in outdoor leaders that enable them to adapt to complex human and physical environments.
The three goals of Risk Management, Judgement, and Decision-Making are:
Identifying hazard and risks;
Self-awareness in decision making – understanding your own abilities and limitations;
and
‘Adaptive expertise’ – the ability to understand dynamic situations and use skills and knowledge from past experiences and training to create new solutions (critical thinking).
