Conclusion

You have now explored the concepts of understanding and recognizing Psychological and Cultural Safety in the Workplace. You have learned about what it means on a deeper level to be psychologically and culturally safe, and the impacts that this may have on employees. We have also explored how to recognize Psychological and Cultural safety, or lack of, in a work environment. When we can understand and recognize what a truly safe work environment is like, we can begin to implement these in our own work environments.

Learning Goals

After this lesson, I have:

  • Explained the impact of Psychological and Cultural Safety on employee well-being, their associated factors, and how Indigenous employees experience them.
  • Identified indicators and precursors of a psychologically and culturally unsafe environment to raise employee awareness.
