About the Authors

woman with short dark hair wearing an open collared striped shirt with suit jacket.Jacqueline Lewis, PhD (She/Her) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology & Criminology at the University of Windsor. She received her doctorate in sociology from the University of Toronto in 1994. Over the course of her career, her teaching and research has focused on: the impact of public policy on the health and well-being; identity and stigma management; drugs, drug use and drug policy; illness, death and dying; sex work, sexual labour and sex work policy; and research ethics.

Jillian Holland-PenneyYoung woman with long blonde hair. completed her MA in criminology from the University of Windsor in December 2021. During 2021-22 she worked as the project manager for two eCampusOntario course development projects. For 6 years, while completing her BA and MA, she was a fastpitch athlete and an Academic All-Canadian. In 2022 she was awarded both the MVP trophy and the University of Windsor Lancers Captain’s Trophy.
