Studio Process
The Studio’s process involves first searching for existing OER with the support of the library. If there are OER resources that meet your needs you can adopt and use them. If you cannot find anything existing, you can create your own with the support of the ODS team.

There are two options: finding existing OERs and creating your own
Finding Existing OER Steps
Step 1: Connect: Contact the OER Design Studio to chat about options.
Step 2: Learn: Complete our OER Prep course and learn about OER and open licensing.
Step 3: Scan: Work with the library to create an environmental scan of OER for your course.
Step 4: Evaluate: Check the scan. Are there resources that meet most of your needs?
If your answer is “Yes” then you can adopt the existing resource(s).
If no OER exists that meets your needs, then you can create your own.
Creating Your Own OER Steps
Step 5: Define: Outline the scope, structure and style of your new resource.
Step 6: Develop: Work with the studio to build your content.
Step 7: Review: Engage your colleagues, students and other users in reviewing your new resources.
Step: 8: Publish/Maintain: Publish your new resource, share and update accordingly.
