Not-Yetness
In some cases, a project may still be a work in progress. It can be helpful to make a note to the audience to communicate this. See some sample messaging below.
This digital book is a compilation of existing open resources to create a workable base for learning in a Global Marketing course at Fanshawe College. From this base, students will be invited to engage with the content with the goal of improvement. It is the intention that this is a living compilation that will go through continual updates over time while embracing the concept of “not-yet-ness”. “Not-yet-ness is not satisfying every condition, not fully understanding something, not check-listing everything, not tidying everything, not trying to solve every problem … but creating space for emergence to take us to new and unpredictable places, to help us better understand the problems we are trying to solve” [1]
This digital resource has been curated from existing open educational resources to support student learning in the “Add course name here” course at Fanshawe College. A central tenant of open pedagogy is the collaborative nature of creating, adapting, remixing and disseminating information within a community of leaners. As such, readers are reminded this OER is a work-in progress – a living resource, subject to continual improvement to reflect new and emerging ideas and updates on its subject.
Your feedback is welcomed.
