Getting Started: New Hire Orientation Checklist
To help you get started, an Orientation Checklist has been created that highlights many of the essential administrative tasks you’ll need to complete upon being hired.
Orientation Checklist
Before Term Begins
- Signed my hire letter
- Provided my banking information to the School Assistant
- Collected my employee ID card
Employee ID cards are collected from the Parking Office (D1018). You will need your Employee Number and a piece of identification. - Arranged for parking, if necessary. Parking cards can be purchased from the Parking Office (D1018).
- Gave the School Assistant my employee card number to gain swipe access to A2058
- Logged into FanshaweOnline
- Logged into WebAdvisor. WebAdvisor is where you will find you class list, class schedule, pay stubs, and tax information
- Logged into your employee email account. *Note: You have 2 email accounts: fanshawec – for employee communications – and fanshaweonline – for student communications.
- Attended an Orientation session (if offered/applicable )
- Met with my coordinator(s)
- Set up my FOL page for my course(s)
- Check the FanshaweOnline Essentials for the list of items to set up before your first class
- Located my desk in A2058. Your workstation number will be provided to you by the School Assistant. The A2058 Office Map identifies the location of the workstations.
- Completed my Health and Safety Training Modules. Please begin with your WHMIS course before proceeding to the remaining courses. WHMIS must be completed within 1 week of your account creation. Please complete the rest of the training courses within 30 days of your account creation. More information about the training modules can be found in the Health and Safety sections of this guide.
