Conclusion

We have now come to the end of the module! We have covered an extensive amount of scenarios and strategies for approaching conflict in the workplace throughout the lessons. But we may be left with the question – where do we go now? Although there is no “one size fits all” solution to navigating inclusive conflict management for Indigenous employees, there are some steps we can take to help make our workplaces culturally and psychologically safe for all employees. By raising our awareness and taking the time to think about how the needs of employees are unique and culturally reflective, we can begin to make our workplaces safer environment in which we manage conflict and grow our careers.

It is important to remember that conflict is unavoidable in organizational settings. However, we can develop the necessary skills to address it in ways that are inclusive and culturally safe so that employees can thrive in workplaces that reflect their values.

Learning Goals

After going through this lesson, I have now:

  • Learned strategies for creating a culturally inclusive conflict resolution process in the workplace.
  • Recognized and acknowledge the potential for building trust through the cultivation of strong relationships with Indigenous employees.
