105 B-1: Sie-Imperative
B-1: Sie-Imperative
Today, you learned a bunch of actions presented by the instructor in the form of commands, such as:
lesen Sie! = read
schreiben Sie! = write!
Commands like these are the easiest to form because all you do it add ‚Sie‘ to the infinitive:
lesen = to read lesen Sie = read!
If a verb has a separable prefix (like ‚get up‚ or ’sit down‚ in English) or other words such as sich (yourself), it goes to the end:
stehen Sie auf! = stand up!
setzen Sie sich! = sit down (lit. seat yourself down)
If there is more than one word after the verb, the separable prefix always goes to the very end:
drehen Sie sich um! = turn around (lit. turn yourself around)
