103 B-1: Sie-Imperative

B-1: Sie-Imperative

Today, you learned a bunch of actions presented by the instructor in the form of commands, such as:

lesen Sie! = read

schreiben Sie! = write!

Commands like these are the easiest to form because all you do it add ‚Sie‘ to the infinitive:

lesen = to read lesen Sie = read!

If a verb has a separable prefix (like ‚get up‚ or ’sit down‚ in English) or other words such as sich (yourself), it goes to the end:

stehen Sie auf! = stand up!

setzen Sie sich! = sit down (lit. seat yourself down)

If there is more than one word after the verb, the separable prefix always goes to the very end:

drehen Sie sich um! = turn around (lit. turn yourself around)

Aufgabe 1. Write the imperative form of the following verbs (please write your answers as if they are complete sentences).  Pay attention to the rules above.
