29 Noun Plural

Noun Plural

Unfortunately for its learners, German has multiple ways of forming plural (between five and eight, depending on how you count).  Therefore, it is highly advisable to memorize the singular and the plural form of each noun you learn.

However, there are some shortcuts. For example, almost all feminine nouns form plural by taking -n or -en endings and almost all masculine nouns take the ‘-e’  ending in Plural.

die Tür – die Türen

die Tafel – die Tafeln

der Stift – die Stifte

der Tisch – die Tische
