Co-op Opportunities in Ontario for Students
Cooperative education is a structured method of combining classroom-based education with practical work experience. In Ontario, there are many post-secondary institutions that may offer co-op opportunities. Co-op placements are a great way for students to further their education while still obtaining important practical work experience. It may help you decide whether or not you would like to pursue a specific career path with your degree prior to graduation.
There are many sites and organizations that specifically help Ontario students find co-op opportunities at their campus, for example:
- Canada’s Higher Education & Career Guide – Cooperative Education in Ontario: This website comprises various post-secondary institutions that offer cooperative education in the province of Ontario.
- Ontario Colleges Co-op Directory: Using this directory by ontariocolleges.ca, you can select Co-op as the program type and find various co-op positions available at campuses across Ontario.
- Experiential and Work-Integrated Learning Ontario (EWO): EWO is a provincial non-profit comprised of post-secondary, publicly-funded institutions in Ontario that offer Co-operative Education, Work-Integrated & Experiential Learning.
