Digital Skills for Post-secondary Readiness

The College Sector Committee for Adult Upgrading (CSC) and AlphaPlus (AP) worked with seven Literacy and Basic Skills college facilitators to determine the skills learners need as they enter post-secondary education and develop a set of “Digital Skills for Post-secondary Readiness” assessments.

On these pages you will find assessment tools that college LBS/AU programs can use to help assess their learners’ digital skills readiness for transition to post-secondary studies, and to provide suggested resources to support learners’ digital skills acquisition if needed.

These assessments will help you see if you have the digital technology skills you will need in your post-secondary program.

There are three Microsoft Office tasks and an online quiz that you can try.

Microsoft Word Assessments for Students
Most people will use Word in post-secondary education.

Microsoft PowerPoint Assessments for Students
Some people will need to use presentation software such as PowerPoint.

Microsoft Excel Assessments for Students
Only people going into certain fields will need to use Excel.

Digital Skills Quiz
The quiz asks you questions about 7 topics that will be relevant to anybody entering post-secondary education.
