Land Acknowledgement

We wish to acknowledge and express gratitude to Indigenous peoples for their contributions as we work towards reconciliation by learning about the people, the land, and traditional territories on which we work and reside. Conestoga College is located on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, and Neutral peoples.

Gratitude and Thanks

It is important for me to recognize the handful of helpful humans that assisted in the production of this e-text.

I am grateful to Lesline Fehr for kick starting the project, reading early drafts, and advising.  Without Lesline, there would be no CELR 3.

Holly Ashbourne not only introduced Pressbook to me, but she also answered all my questions, ensured accessibility of the book, and lent her expertise in formatting. I have a deep appreciation for Holly’s swift, knowledgeable responses throughout the project.

Jacob Lasby produced the audio recordings.  It was a pure pleasure to follow his lead in his studio. This book is enhanced by Jacob’s insistence on making the best recordings possible.

Austen Gordon proofread everything.  I feel indebted to Austen for his keen eye for detail.  Thank you.

Brittney Marvel recorded the new chapter 8 audio for the second edition of the text.  Brittney made me feel so comfortable and supported in the studio. I am much obliged.

It is odd, but the Global Pandemic was also a contributor. Working virtually from home demonstrated a need for a text that couldn’t be found and increased my awareness of online resources.  So, yes, thank you COVID-19 for shaking things up, so I could see the opportunity to make this e-text!
