Book Description: "From Fashion to Food" is a compelling exploration of our modern disposable lifestyle, created by students in Centennial College’s Community Development Work Program. Prompted by a zero-waste challenge, the class embarked on a deep investigation into the often-overlooked consequences of our consumption habits. Through hands-on experience and collaborative research, students uncovered the complexities of waste in six critical areas: fashion, ocean plastics, e-waste, food waste, sewage, and medical waste. Drawing from global perspectives and lived experiences in countries like the Philippines, India, and China, they examined not only the local context of Canada but also the worldwide impact of our throwaway culture. This book is both a reflection and a call to awareness—inviting readers to see what is usually hidden, and to rethink what we so easily discard.
