Avenue to Learn is an online learning management system that provides a wide range of content for students. It offers interactive learning experiences with a variety of activities, assessments, and resources. The platform also provides access to course materials, discussions, and other features to help students learn effectively. With Avenue to Learn, instructors can create custom modules that contain relevant content for their courses. They can also use the system’s tools to manage student progress and track completion rates. With its comprehensive suite of features, Avenue to Learn makes it easy for instructors and students alike to access the information they need in order to be successful in their studies.

Navigating Content

Content Tools

  • When you access a course’s Content tool for the first time you will land on the Table of Contents.
  • Topics you bookmark appear in a list on the Bookmarks page. The number beside the Bookmarks link indicates how many bookmarks you have.
  • The Course Schedule page lists course material due dates, start dates, end dates, overdue course activities, and all events within the course from the Calendar tool for the next seven days. The number of overdue items in the course appears in red.
  • Course events are also listed in the Calendar tool.
  • The Overdue tab only appears if you have content topics that are not complete by the set deadline. The number of overdue topics in the Overdue tab appears in red beside Course Schedule in the Content menu. When you access an overdue topic, it disappears from the list in the Overdue tab. When you complete all overdue topics, the Overdue tab disappears from the Course Schedule area. 
  • The Table of Contents panel lists all modules available in your course. If numbers appear beside each module name in the Table of Contents panel, it indicates that topics are being tracked for completion and that you have a number of topics you have not accessed.
  • Print your course outline, or navigate to a module’s landing page to print a module’s outline.

About the Course

The About the Course module contains crucial information that it vital for your success in the course, including:

  • Course Outline
  • Detailed Course Schedule
  • Required Materials
  • Contact Information

Evaluations

The Evaluations module contains an overview of the various assessment items used to assess your learning. Each evaluation overview document contains key information, including the expectations, weight of the assessment, resources, and a rubric that clearly outlined the assessments marking criteria.

Live Sessions Recordings

If your course contains any live sessions, the virtual meetings are recorded and uploaded here. This allows you to return to a live session or catch-up on a live session you may have missed.

Module Content

Module content is where you are guided through the learning material, assigned readings, practice activities, and receive instructions that guide you through the completion of the course.
