Placement Coordinator

This role is important in preparing for the placement experience, acting as a liaison between students, college procedures, and work placement hosts.

  • Provide placement details, identify timelines for academic and non-academic requirements, formulate a consistent communication strategy, utilizing, maintaining, and informing students of communication channels.
  • Organize, attend, and participate in all placement meetings.
  • Create a schedule of availability for students to connect with placement coordinator including open office hours.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and secure records involving each student placement and share with required reporting mechanisms.
  • Communicate regularly with students and work placement hosts.
  • Contribute to the timely completion of placement paperwork to support placement activities.
  • Approve placement opportunities, connect with work placement host to assess the appropriateness of the placement opportunity.
  • Respond to student questions/concerns prior, during, and after placement experience.
  • Create and maintain a list of students participating in placement activities, share with program team as it involves academic attendance and performance.
  • Participate in community outreach to assist with establishing novel placement opportunities for students.
  • Establish and maintain communication with the faculty of Office Admin Health Services. It is strongly suggested this happens with a placement plan summary at program startup meetings at the beginning of Fall and Winter semesters.
