2 Work Placement Objectives
The objectives for the work placement experience includes the following, completing 100-120 hours:
- Apply your academic learning to a work placement experience.
- Explore the roles and responsibilities of health services administrative professionals in a healthcare setting.
- Increase your involvement in the role of your placement, applying administrative knowledge and skills through the completion of assigned tasks.
- Improve your application of assigned tasks from one day to the next.
- Articulate the role of the health services administrative professional in a workplace setting.
Description: Learners in semester 4 of Office Administration Health Services have an opportunity to participate in a work placement. Meeting both non-academic placement requirements and academic requirements to be eligible. The placement experience typically starts at the beginning of week 5 in semester 4 concluding at the end of week 12. Placements are tentatively scheduled for two days per week and may vary.
Evaluation: Placement evaluation is linked to a mandatory 4th semester course: OFAD 2032 Health Services Practical Experience and Clinical Applications. Learners choosing not to participate in placement will complete evaluation components reflective of learning simulations set out in the course design of OFAD 2032.
