9 Student Code of Conduct

Student Placement Code of Conduct:

  • Display dependability and punctuality; adhere to the work placement host hours of work.
  • Effectively work with and respect others in a team setting.
  • Meet dress code standards set by the work placement host. Some placements require scrubs to be worn.
  • Notify the work placement host of any absence prior to scheduled shift and the work placement coordinator.
  • Comply with established procedures and policies in professional settings.
  • Exhibit effective organization and customer service skills.
  • Follow established rules, policies and or commonly accepted professional practice.
  • Perform in a safe manner that minimizes risk to client/patient/customer, self and others.
  • Students are expected to respect the privacy of patients/clients in all situations. Specifically, students should maintain privacy in line with PHIPA standards when it comes to the collection, use, and disclosure of patient information during and after their field placement.
  • The use of personal cell phones should be restricted to breaks and cell phones should be kept out of sight during scheduled shifts.
  • Must attend a mandatory one on one meeting with Placement Coordinator in January prior to placement launch

*Any confidentiality breech or violation of the student code of conduct outlined here will be reviewed and may result in dismissal from the work placement experience.
